Six people were hospitalized following a crash on a Hudson Valley highway that involved seven vehicles, including a dump truck, officials announced.
The crash happened on Tuesday, May 21 around 11:30 a.m. when seven vehicles, including a dump truck, collided on Interstate 84 East in the Putnam County town of Kent between the Bowen Road overpass and Route 311 just west of Exit 61, according to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police.
The incident, which involved a dump truck rollover, caused I-84 East to temporarily close between Bowen Road and Route 311. The right shoulder and right lane of the highway were open as of 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services announced.
Six people were taken to Danbury Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the crash, the Bureau of Emergency Services added.
